taḳhayyul meñ kabhī jab aap kī tasvīr ubhrī hai
to kāġhaz par qalam kī nok se tahrīr hai
mirī qismat kī kashtī bahr-e-ġham meñ Duub saktī thī
tirī taqdīr se shāyad mirī taqdīr ubhrī hai
tirī yādoñ kā sūraj mustaqil gardish meñ ho jaise
kahīñ par din nikal aayā kahīñ tanvīr ubhrī hai
hinā ke phuul hāthoñ par sajā ke ye kahā us ne
hathelī par tumhāre pyaar kī zanjīr ubhrī hai
abhī tak niiñd ke panchhī jo palkoñ par nahīñ utre
mirī āñkhoñ meñ tere ḳhvāb kī ta.abīr ubhrī hai
chale bhī aao 'anvar' zindagī kī āḳhirī shab hai
tumhārī yaad hai aur hasrat-e-dil-gīr ubhrī hai
