fuġhāñ ke saath tire rāhat-e-qarār chale
navā-garān-e-vafā himmatoñ ko haar chale
ye kyā ki phuul khile aur zaḳhm risne lage
mile sukūñ bhī agar bād-e-nau-bahār chale
ye multafit sī nigāheñ faroġh-e-jām ke saath
chale ye daur chale aur bār-bār chale
hazār barhamī-e-zulf-e-yār bhī dekhī
tujhe to kākul-e-gītī magar sañvār chale
ḳhayāl-o-ilm kā bhī mol-tol hotā hai
hamāre ahd meñ kyā kyā na kārobār chale

ajiib shaan se kuchh log sū-e-dār chale
vahī to the kabhī chashm-o-charāg-e-mahfil-e-ġham
jo be-qarār se uTThe jo ashk-bār chale
thake thake se qadam aur tavīl rāh-e-hayāt
musāfirān-e-adam bojh sā utaar chale
zamīn-e-faiz sitāre luTā rahī hai 'nazar'
ye kyā ki aap yahāñ se bhī sogvār chale
